Plastic Injection Molding: Benefits and Limitations

Image
One of the most commonly used methods of manufacturing identical plastic products in bulk is injection molding. However, like every process, it’s important to understand the specific design restrictions that must be considered to facilitate the obvious benefits of successfully producing high-quality, cost-effective parts. Here, we talk about the benefits and limitations of plastic injection molding: Benefits Low cost per part Although the initial high investment for the plastic injection molding tool is high, the cost per part is pretty low. While other plastic processing techniques may need a number of operations, such as polishing, injection molding can do everything at once. If you decide to do CNC machine apart, it may be costly. Injection molding will be your best bet if you’re looking to go into full production. High repeatability Once you’re done making mold tools, it’s possible to produce similar products repeatedly. The mold life of a decently made mold is quite lengthy – as

4 Types of Injection Molding Technology

Image
From elaborate designs to simple products, injection molding can be used to make full production runs in the millions, a small number of prototypes, or anything in between. There are several injection molding technologies available to manufacture your next products. Here, we highlight 4 technologies that you may use to bring your product to life with higher quality in a shorter time. 1. Liquid silicone injection molding Thermoset is the majority of injection molding, meaning a part is created by injecting cold material into a very hot mold. In this process, the part is cured so it can never melt again. However, if you need a part to tolerate chemical agents or extremely high temperatures (as you might with certain car parts or medical devices), you may need thermoplastic injection molding , which uses liquid silicone frequently. 2. Metal injection molding Metals can also be injection molded. This new technology is considerably costlier than plastic injection molding and typically ser

The Top 5 Industrial Applications of Injection Molding

Image
Plastic components have an array of applications across a variety of industries—thanks to their high versatility. Numerous industries benefit from custom plastic molds because they can be designed to exact client specifications and design requirements. Here, we discuss 5 industrial applications of plastic injection molding: 1. Consumer products Making consumer products is one of the main uses for injection molding. For instance, toy companies use injection molding to build identical, versatile, and durable plastic products. Other companies use injection molding to make automotive parts, electronic devices, and household items. Since injection molding can craft items with flowing lines, detailed designs, and specialized textures, it’s attractive to people in the consumer products industry. 2. Food and beverage Any product made to store or process foods must adhere to FDA (Food and Drug Administration) standards. By producing products with food-grade plastics and materials, injection

Medical Plastic Injection Molding | PTMS

Image
Our factory also specializes in many different  medical plastic injection molding  productions according to the requests. Health is very important for every people, 100% people want to live a long time in recently years, because we live in peace world, so healthy industry become better and better, that makes the other related industries also better. Today we will discuss somethings about medical injection molding, it is a traditional injection technology, using such tech to make plastic parts. to be honest, the profits are big for such parts, but not all can make them, because it is very precision and complex from design to the mass production, the following items can be for reference. It should be professional engineers who knew how to design and make such medical parts. It should have 1-2 dust free line, because medical products need clean place to production and assembly. The supplier should apply certification to produce such medical items. QC is also very important for quality ins

Insert Injection Molding | PTMS

Image
It’s a little difficult to make  insert injection molding  mass production, because it needs professional technology from design to the tooling and the final production. Usually, plastic parts need a metal inside, so it also called insert molding. PTMS is a professional injection factory in China, we have much experience in many different of molding production. Our clients are mainly from Europe and USA, such as 30% for North America, 30% for Europe, 30% for Asia-Pacific, 10% for others. So, you can see, our capability is rather strong. Here is a plastic connector made by insert injection molding, the accuracy is +/-0.001mm, internal parts, resin is nylon and glass fiber, very complex and precision, the metal is into the mold when mass production, used for electronic products. We design it, make mold, production, one-stop service for our clients. If you need such service, maybe we can help you.

Double Injection Molding | PTMS

Image
Our company have much experience in  double injection molding  mass production since 2010. Double means double color, or double different plastic resin, it is also called double molding. In the fact, the cost of double parts is very expensive at this stage, because injection machine cost is very high, it needs double injection machine to produce the mass production. The machine has two hoppers for the different materials or colors, this cost is very expensive, but the double parts look very nice. The application of this injection is just limited, because it is not widely used in the different industries right now, so the cost cannot be cut down. The less, the little, the high cost we think. Here is a product made by double injection molding, it looks like a two-color basket, it is made of white hard glue PP and red soft glue TPE, the two different plastic resin is food grade, the soft TPE can be foldable, this part is portable and durable, but the mold is very simple, not very difficul

Over Injection Molding | PTMS

Image
PTMS also focus on over injection molding mass production since 2011, over molding is a complex technology and a little difficult to be done. Usually, all the secondary processing for injection also called over molding, it includes the two points: Secondary processing for plastic parts, it means make the tooling for the complete parts, nothing with the resin, plastic processing for the parts again, so, it looks two resins, but in the fact, it should be one parts, just different resin, this soft blue is to protect the handle, good for hand. The other is called metal included in the parts. this is very common situation. How to do it? Keep the metal in the mold when mass production, the metal will into the plastic parts when machine closed and open. Here is a handle made by over injection molding, it’s a handle of one product, ABS plastic body, the blue part is TPE soft resin, anti-slip design, one slider in the mold, complex. The black body is the first processing, the blue part is the s
