Usually, all the secondary processing for injection also called over molding, it includes the two points:

  1. Secondary processing for plastic parts, it means make the tooling for the complete parts, nothing with the resin, plastic processing for the parts again, so, it looks two resins, but in the fact, it should be one parts, just different resin, this soft blue is to protect the handle, good for hand.
  2. The other is called metal included in the parts. this is very common situation. How to do it? Keep the metal in the mold when mass production, the metal will into the plastic parts when machine closed and open.

Here is a handle made by over injection molding, it’s a handle of one product, ABS plastic body, the blue part is TPE soft resin, anti-slip design, one slider in the mold, complex. The black body is the first processing, the blue part is the secondary processing and the part cost will be increased.
